This is still a more controversial area of health care. Homeopathy and other systems approaches considered in the field of "Energy medicine" have their own intrinsic diagnostic evaluations. These approaches are under-researched, but are becoming increasingly popular with patients. Homeopathy involves a very detailed history taking---marrying the individual's fundamental constitutional issues and make-up with the immediate symptoms; traditionally by a physician trained in homeopathy in post-graduate courses. Energy Medicine systems are very diverse. They are based on the concept that a practitioner will be able to assess areas of energetic imbalance in a patient through various means (hands-on, hands-off, and distance work). These modalities have provided relief to some patients with low back pain, though controlled research is lacking.
