The National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine (NCCAM)
has developed the CAM Online Continuing Education Series for health
care providers and the public to learn more about complementary and
alternative medicine (CAM). The Continuing Education Series is presented
in six chapters:
- Overview of Complementary and Alternative Medicine
- Herbs and Other Dietary Supplements
- Mind-Body Medicine
- Acupuncture: An Evidence-Based Assessment
- Manipulative and Body-Based Therapies: Chiropractic and Spinal Manipulation
- Complementary and Alternative Medicine and Aging
Each chapter includes a video lecture by one author, including the
transcript; a question and answer transcript; an online test for medical
professionals for Continuing Medical Education (CME) credits; and resource
links. Most lectures in this program were originally given as part of
the National Institutes of Health Medicine for the Public and the Smithsonian
Resident Associates Program in Washington, D.C.
