In a study of 101 adults with chronic low back pain who received 12
weekly sessions of yoga or conventional therapeutic exercise classes
or a self-care book, back-related function in the yoga group was superior
to both other interventions at 12 weeks and the benefits persisted for
at least several months. At 26 weeks the exercise group and the yoga
group produced similar results. Sherman KJ, Cherkin DC, Erro J, et al.
